I so enjoy when you update your blog Erin and I love this post. The sewing is great. Are you just using a regular sewing machine and a thick needle? Ben had a great idea of scanning the brittle pages. Another idea that came to mind for me is laminating the pages. I got that idea from all the great bags I see that are made of laminated newspaper and sewn together. Xyron makes a great product for this. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Good idea! I'm attempting to make my first book. I'm also using the sewing machine. My machine is acting up today....I hope to find out what the problem is. I'll keep checking back to see what you are doing on your books.

Thanks everyone, I really hope to find some time to work more on these! Thank you for the laminating tips, Leah. Wow, laminating has come a long way since I was in grade school! I did just use a regular sewing machine and a medium-size needle. It worked well, although I'm sure I dulled my needle enough that I ought to change it before sewing fabric again.
